NB:
It's unfortunate that PFM has decided to delete my entire recent thread "DIY elsewhere, now here".
I was not even sent an email about its deletion; which is counterproductive to one's confidence if an agenda to forum integrity in important to the topical community it is representing.
Moderation is a nuanced task. Be wise.

Equally, its v clear in the FAQ and posting rules here, that no discussion of arguments/ moderation issues at other forums/ importing of arguments elsewhere is acceptable here.
It's not you.
Its the way this has in the past wasted immense amounts of time of the Moderators (who take no end of shite for the light touch they exert, and are all ... unpaid volunteers!)
And also the reputational damage inflicted all round, especially when you realise that fundamentally this is a privately -owned, family-friendly record shop - that just happens to have a side-channel where us idiots talk nonsense, for free. Tony's house, Tony's (sensible) rules.
It is not about you.
But it is the Rules. Quite simple.

I didn’t delete your thread. However if you brought an argument from a forum outside of pfm into pfm, it would have been deleted because the AUP states quite clearly:

pfm sits harmoniously in the audio community along with many other audio and music forums. It is not acceptable to bring personal argument, conflict or vendetta from another place onto this forum, nor is it acceptable to post links to external websites hosting such content.

Sadly the mod team also has to have gainful employment. We often don’t have time to contact everyone when we make a decision.
Hope this helps

I don’t care if someone has been banned from another forum. Not my business. Your problem. Keep it off my website!
PS All covered in the AUP you agreed when joining, and yes, I deleted the thread!

Do you have a copy of what you deleted; PM me in any case.It takes considerable time and effort to compose content for posts.
NB: Information can't simply be "black holed".

I understand some of the nuts and bolts of forum TOSmanship.
As I noted earlier (and in the deleted thread) , moderation and admining a nuanced game. I did not realize Other Places had so much power over PFM.
So be it.
NB: My plan -- as stated in deleted thread -- was to move over much of my content from elsewhere** to PFM. However, in light of the thread deletion, I'll have to hold back a bit on sharing content.
Moderation is a nuanced business ... maybe a thankless job ... and you'll lose some of my business ... but at least topics like this keep things interesting. And that -- keeping things interesting -- is how to improve and sustain your forum.

** Quite a bit of high quality content, IMHO. All in the style and fidelity of my "philipsmarantz" content from the Other Place. And there have been >50 other places in the past 14-15 years. But only a small percent of those are related to audio.
